What Causes High Insulin And CRP With Pernicious Anemia In A 65 Year Old?

I am 65 y/o female with med controlled grave s disease, high crp always, high insulin whether fasting or not and recently dx with pernicious anemia. Related, feet and hand neuropathy, better since started b12, not as fatigued, tolerate vitamins better. why high crp, why high insulin. Seldom hypoglycemic, measuring 94 or more even so. Have hx of colon ca. and subsequent intestinal blockages, each time after healing gain more weight. My diet is healthy, non vegetarian, but usually hungry every 4 hrs or less, and I do eat. Feel better if I fast vs diet to cut calories. No alcohol, no drugs. Born premie at 3 lbs, haven t seen that in awhile. Started to rapidly gain at 10 y o and puberty at 11. Total hysterectomy at 40. Arthritis in feet since mid 20 s. Weigh 245-247 yikes

hi,
With so many issues around, there is no surprise in having high CRP as it is just a marker of inflammation. your high insulin levels are probably due to your insulin resistance and diabetes.
Graves disease, pernicious anemia and B12 defeciency suggests that all these are autoimmune processes. A history of Ca colon would raise further suspicion of MULTIPLE ENDOCRINE NEOPLASIA (MEN SYNDROME). check out the possibility of this with your doctor in your next visit, and have them test you for this, as your prognosis can be modified once you are properly diagnosed. all the best.
