Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes High Fever, Profuse Sweating And Difficulty In Urination?
My symptoms started with the onset of a high fever. My bed was soaking wet. That happened at least two more times. Now, when I try to urinate my uretherah shrinks in diameter . The amount that I expelled is perhaps only a tablespoon. this has been going on for two days now. Any ideas about what is going on with my body.
Your symptoms suggest you might be having a bad urinary tract infection resulting in high fever and strangury ( difficult urination or as you described, "urethra-shrinking", and expelling small amounts of urine). If left untreated, this infection can progress upwards to your kidneys and cause a serious infection called pyelonephritis which will require hospitalization.
You need to quickly get to your regular doctor for a urine test as well as a prescription of oral antibiotics and urinary alkalinizer to ease your urination. Besides taking medication, you need to sufficiently rehydrate and empty your bladder regularly to facilitate recovery.
Please seek for treatment urgently.
Thank you. Dr Shabnam
