What Causes High Bp Levels?

Doctor, I have high bp 150/100 especially in the evening morning it will be 140/90 or 140/95 i am taking bp tablet hibesor 50 mg still i was not able to control. Some time I am taking anxit .s.r 0.5 mg on sos all lipid ecg tmt are ok what is the reason

the pathophysiology of hypertension is of various levels and particular drugs act at particular levels of the pathophysiology. the hibesor (atenolol) you are taking helps to reduce the heart rate which is also a cause for increase blood pressure but it does not affect other levels. It is likely that with persistent high blood pressure that are not controlled by the hibesor, you will be needing a second drug which will act at a different level. Example of other drugs; captopril, nicardipine, amlodipine etc.
