Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m trying to find out what would cause a child to overheat. Not your regular playing outside not hydrating. My teenage niece tends to overheat, and has passed out a few times. She s done this since she was little. Very little exertion when outside brings it on. Her mother always acted like it was no big deal, just told her to sit and rest more often. Never checked it out with Dr that my niece or I recall.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you should definitely take her to pediatrician and get done clinical examination and reports. High grade fever with momentarily unconsciousness (passing out) is commonly seen with febrile seizures, meningitis, typhoid etc. So she will need blood reports and MRI brain to find out the cause. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your niece. Thanks.
