Hii doc Im a 23 yrs guy.Im a very active guy who is having issues with high blood pressure. My doctor tried to investigate the cause of it since it is occuring at a very tender age ...Test results proved that there is nothing with my biochemistry. So what could be causing it..
Hello It sounds like you were evaluated by your doctor concerning elevated blood pressure. Elevated means consistently higher than 130/85. First step is to decrease salt intake to no more than 2 grams sodium/salt per day. Fast foods and processed foods contain a lot of sodium. Next, it is important to decrease alcohol intake, if any, as alcohol can increase BP. Also important is to have a balanced diet with 6 to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. It sounds that you were already evaluated for secondary causes of hypertension, so that means you have primary essential hypertension. Most likely it is hereditary. Inquire with any relatives if they have hypertension. It is important to take medications daily as prescribed by a physician as untreated elevated blood pressure puts a strain on the heart, causing the heart to enlarge and increasing the risk of a heart attack and stroke. Best regards
