What Causes High Anti HBs In Blood Test?

Hi. I am a 20 years old male. I applied to a security company and they told me to get a check up. So I went a to private and well known lab here. Anyway everything was normal except these ANTI HBS and HBS AG results. Respectivley, they are 750.0 mIU/mL and 0.974. They told me that I am immune to hep B. However, I am sure that I am not vaccinated and never had hep B. Moreover I am a very healthy person. I do not recall any illness for past 10 years, except runny nose in winters. They also told me they may check some other stuff to get a clear result. Well, what should I do at this point? Are those values normal? Am I naturally immune to hep B? Shall I get further tests?

hello, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. I had gone through all the details posted. In India Hepatitis B vaccine had become a part of childhood immunisation since 1996. so possibilities are
1) you may have got immunisation during childhood itself
2) in natural history of Hepatitis B some 3-5 % of people can spontaneously clear infection and can become HBsAg negative and produce Anti HBS.

so either way your HBsAG is begative and Anti HBS titer is protective so no need to worry. you can do a liver function test and ultrasound liver once ..

Hope this helps..
