Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started w/ low normal BP, but extreme stress led to going into A Fib 2 1/2 months ago. My BP was extremely high for 1 day. Was put on diltiazem but I didn t feel right. I noticed that a couple hours after I d get up my BP was very high (195/130). I stopped taking it after dr didn t satisfy my questions. Now my BP is back to low, but my diastolic # drops during the night into 40s. I don t feel quite right, but can t get into my dr for more than 2 weeks. Something is very wrong. Is there something I can do? my BP this am was 96/56 when I woke. I took licorice and it s now 125/78, but I m getting afraid to even sleep at night.
Ok, first question is whether the BP is real or not. In atrial fibrillation the heart bounces all ove the place and saying which reading is right is a bit arbitrary. BUT mechanized BP readers will always choos the worse reading for the top number and the best / lowest for the bottom number.
