What Causes Hiccups Like Twitching In The Stomach?

I am a 17 year old girl and seem to have experienced some sort of twitching or hiccups in my right lower quadrant near my belly button. There is no pain & no pattern at which I feel these hiccups in my stomach . It doesn t feel like it has any depth either. This is the first time ever feeling this. I am not pregnant & would like to know what is causing this feeling.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of being 17 and have twitching or hiccoughs in right lower quadrant of abdomen without pain near the belly button. There is no pattern to it and has no depth. Also note that you are not pregnant and wants to know what is it that is causing this.
With the history that you have provided, this looks to be just tics of the abdominal muscles and can come on due to the following reasons:
Stress and/or anxiety.
Exhaustion.
Some problem in the back causing some sort of nerve pinching or so.
This can be diagnosed by the following:
Your keen observation.
A good 8 hours sleep.
Avoidance of stress and anxiety.
May be a small dose or related medicines under the guidance of your Doctor as these are prescription based one.
If no relief, go for further investigations of :
Blood: CBC, electrolytes and so on as per the clinical evaluation.
MRI of the thoracic spine.
And treatment if be needed as per the reports such as correction of electrolytes and fluid balance.
Exercises of the back.
