Hello and welcome to HCM,
Skipping of menstrual cycles for a month and then continuous bleeding for 12 days is suggestive of abnormal
uterine bleeding and it needs to be investigated.
I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment and relevant investigations.
Investigations required are
ultrasound of the pelvis and endometrial curretings.
The endometrial curretings will determine the status of endometrial glands and stroma.
Hormonal imbalance is the most common cause of abnormal bleeding however relevant investigations are required to determine the cause of abnormal bleeding.
At the same time you need to get complete hemogram also to check the
hemoglobin levels.
Passage of
blood clots can lead to anemia or low hemoglobin levels.
Thus, complete hemogram with peripheral blood smear examination is required to know the level of anemia and type of anemia.
If anemia is present, it has also to be managed.
Thanks and take care
