What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding After Discontinuation Of Birth Control Pill?

I a 52, was just taken off the pill after 25+ years, am having heavy mentruel bleeding, pain, and some clotting...totally not what I am used to. Heavy bleeding has been constant for 3 days. I have a call into my doctor, but I decided to do some snooping on the Internet too! What do you think?

Hi

I have gone through your query, i will try to give you suggestion which will be helpful to you.
Heavy bleeding could be because of hormonal imbalance as you were taking pills continuously. Other causes like fibroid and adenomyosis which are known to cause menorrhagia and rarely malignancy should be ruled out.I advice you to get ultrasound to rule out the above.
This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. I will be glad to help you in case if you have any further queries.

Wish you speedy recovery. Take care.
