What Causes Heavy Bleeding During Periods At The Age Of 50?

Dear doctor, I am 50 years old and I am having heavy menstrual flow.. In June I was in India and I showed to gynaecologist. She advised to take projesterone and Trapic to regulate my periods since my endometrium wall is thick. In July it was regular. I am taking projesterone one tablet daily for 21 days and Trapic 2 tablets thrice a day during periods ( 5 days). Again I will start projesterone. But now bleeding heavily with clots. At present I am in US as visitor. I am having above tablets with me. Please advice to stop the bleeding.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and thanks you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can with my answer.
I think that endometrium curretage should be done to see if there are some suspicious cells since tumors may arise in perimenopausal women. Also, progesterone dosage sgould be corrected if there is prolonged bleedins.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
