What Causes Heavy Bleeding After A Medical Abortion?

I had a medical abortion 6 weeks ago. I had moderate bleeding intially after taking the abortion pill and immediately went onto birth control. The last few days I have been having spotting/light period symptoms, and it appears to get a little heavier after the gym. This morning, as I was walking into work, I had the feeling as if I was leaking heavily. Ran to the bathroom, and there was a lot of blood in my underwear. I pushed a little as if peeing, and spew of large chunks of blood came out. I put a pad on, called the clinic where I had the abortion, and was told to monitor fever and bleeding today, but that this is still normal - that I could be passing material that I didn't before. I have no pain, maybe very SLIGHT cramping, and no fever. I also tested negative for pregnancy after about 2.5 weeks from taking the abortion pill (I was 5 weeks pregnant when taking it). Is this a cause for concern?

Hi
health care magic user

Occasional severe bleeding and pain after abortion for few weeks is normal because of uterine activity nothing to worry for that ,but if you are having continuous pain and bleeding than please do one scanning and complete blood picure to see weather you had aborted completely or not.If it comes negative than nothing to worry.
THanks
