Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Heaviness In The Lower Abdomen Post A Radical Orchiectomy?
My husband recently had a radical orichiectomy (left testicle). The surgery was performed on Feb 10 and he is recovering well. Pathology reports stated the entire testicle was a tumor, but benign. His original symptoms of a heaviness in his lower abdomen continue to be present. Could this heaviness and pain be a result of the recent surgery? Are more tests needed to rule out other tumors? We will consult with the urologist who performed the surgery on Mar 6. I am still worried about him and am impatient so I am asking my questions here.
As there is biopsy confirmation of the tumor as benign, there is no further requirement of additional tests. Slight heaviness in the lower abdomen is a normal part of the recovery part, so do not worry regarding the same. You can take prescribed medicines as per the advice of your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
