Hi.
Thanks for the query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
The heartburn at night can be due to a condition called GERD that is
gastroesophageal reflux disease wherein the acidity and other stomach contents come up as reflux from stomach to the esophagus and even into the mouth. This increases the
esophagitis causing burning pain behind called as retro-sternal burning,
sore throat,
pharyngitis and so on.
The swelling on side of lip can be due to
angioneurotic edema if this is painless uniform swelling with or without redness usually without itching.
In fact some allergy might have caused both the problems.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Take a PPI like Omeprazole immediately and also take an antacid to be repeated every three hours.
Soft bland diet, small and frequent meals.
Avoid spicy and oily foods.
No late night parties or dinner.
Move around after dinner,.
Sleep in a reclining position.
Also take Domperidone for motility improvement.
Upper GI Endoscopy to find out any other problems and get additional treatment as per the findings.
