What Causes Heart Palpitations?

I m 21 and generally healthy. I partied a bit hard last night. Now, even though I m exhausted because I didn t get much sleep , I can t fall asleep Because I feel like I can feel my heart beating really fast and. I ve been Hospital because of panic attacks / anxiety before but this feels different So I m wondering if I should go to ER? I don t want something bad to happen to my heart. I m having a really bad comedown/hangover

I understand your query and concern.
Your symptoms could be related to anxiety and lack of sleep but heart condition shouldnt be ruled out unless proved otherwise.So get an ECG immediately.If its sinus rythm you neednot worry,anxiolytics will be helpful.If Tachycardia or supraventricular tachycardia is detected in your ECG you should go for drugs like Amiodarone.Electrophysiological studies and RFA can also offer permanent cure in your case.So do not worry.Go to EMR and consult cardiologist for expert management.Post your further queries if any.
