What Causes Heart Palpitations And Shaking?

I went to my GP last week with a rapid heartbeat and shaking. He tried several tests which were OK and now thinks I may have thyroid problems. However, I think the problem could be the cough and uncomfortable ears which I have had for ten weeks now. What do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you are having heart palpitations & shaking, you are suggested to visit ER, get physically examined & get Thyroid function tests, Lipid function tests along with Nerve conduction tests done. You have to go through other tests CBC, Urinalysis, Imaging tests also.

Shaking (Tremors) may be caused by hypoglycemia, drug abuse, alcohol etc. Stay away from addictions if any.

Get assessed, hyperthyroidism causes palpitations, get treated at the earliest.

Do regular exercises, take a healthy diet & avoid junk food, stay away from emotional and physical stress and anxiety.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
