What Causes Heart Palpitation And Sternum Area Restriction After Exertion?
Husband when exercising and getting his heartbeat to 115 starts to feel a restriction in his sternum up to the bottom of his throat - no pain at all and no other symptoms. He bought a new piece of equipment to work his chest and this started shortly thereafter. He also has damage to his Vagus nerve.

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that palpitaion with chest discomfort up to throat definitely points towards heart disease or anemia and is recommended to evaluate both.
Kindly get a CBC, Serum Ferritin, ECG and a Echocardiography done and consult back with reports.
