What Causes Heart Arrhythmia After Taking Nadolol Tablet?

I am a 49 year old female with a history of SVT. I have been taking nadolol for 15 years now. I have been experiencing several skipped beats a minute for several days now. They can last all day or periodically throughout the day or night. I went to the ER last week and after 4 hours in the waiting room it stopped before I was seen. My cardiologist did not feel the need to see me since I was seen just two months ago for my annual checkup. Should I be scared?? 4-12 skipped beats a minute. Blood pressure is normal with resting heart rate between 56(sleeping per my Fitbit) and 76.

cannot say in your particular case (unless you are from Champaign Urbana). In Champaign Urbana right now are both my wife and her mother. The mother in law not only has the identical history but also is on the identical medication. To illustrate this common situation we have two extremes: my wife has the same number of skip beats (I counted) but has been extensively checked by cardiology and does a stress test worth of exercise daily and has no heart problems. The skip beats in this situation are entirely ignorable. My mother in law not only has had several episodes of atrial fibrillation with uncontrolled rate > 200, but recently had an abnormal ekg and blood tests indicating a heart attack ! This would be concerning.
So, the skp beats themselves would not be bad. DO NOT STOP THE NADOLOL EXCEPT UNDER CLOSE DOCTOR SUPERVISION AS STOPPING IT IS LIKLEY TO HAVE WITHDRAWAL RAPID HEART BEAT. and the overall context is the most important feature. If the skip beats come in a run of several, if they are from the larger part of the heart that pumps blood (the ventricle) or if there are other abnormalities in the the ekg then that would be bad. Mostly, they aren't bad.
