What Causes Headache, vomiting And Blurring Of Vision?

Two events have occurred in the past two days. First, I had an episode that came on very suddenly where, in the middle of a meal, I was suddenly nauseous, left the table and vomited violently. It was so violent that some small blood vessels in my eyes burst causing red spots. Shortly thereafter, I experience visual disturbances - bright sparkly lights, zigzag black lines, blurriness in one eye. Then in a few minutes and severe headache began on one side of my head. After about 10 minutes the headache and all symptoms began to subside and the headache became a minor dull ache that lasted for about the next 36 hours or so. About the time the headache subsided, the tip of my tongue began to feel numb, and then gradually become painful - a burning sensation. The burning sensation comes and goes - sometimes quite painful, sometimes only slight. What could this possibly be? A migraine? I have never had anything quite like this before.
