Hello Dawn!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, your symptoms don't seem to be related to recurrent meningitis. You shouldn't worry about it!

Migraines could be the cause of your headache. From the other hand, other causes should also be excluded like:

- possible brain lesion
- inflammation

From the other hand, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist and performing a brain MRI, some lab blood tests (complete blood count, inflammation tests).

If all the above tests are normal, you should discuss with your doctor on the possibility of starting a preventive therapy (like a calcium channel blocker, an antidepressant or an antiepileptic drug) for some months.

Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Aida
