What Causes Headaches, High Temperature, Sore Throat And Testicles With Long Sleeps?

Hi, my daughter (9), 25 kg, had terrible headaches for a complete week, high temperature (41 - 43) and nothing seemed to help bring it down or ease the pain. she was sleeping about 24 hours and did not want to eat anything. she seemed to be better the next week but showed the same symptoms the following week. At this stage my son (7) also showed the same symptoms. His glands around his throat were swollen and sore and he complained that his testicles are also hurting and his throat is a bit sore. He s been sick for a week non stop and my daughter for three weeks. Do you know why what this might be?

Hello
As you mentioned that there is fever with sore throat and headache in both children . While your son is also having pain in testes , so these ( alike in both children ) may be due to .
1 Mumps as this may cause orchitis in male as may be in your son case ( a viral a disease as all these symptoms are an indication that children may have mumps.
2 Sore throat may be due to strep throat with infection in testes ( in your son case).
In my opinion get a throat swab and consult a physician as physical examination will find out exact reason at once.
