What Causes Headaches, Dizziness And Chest Pain?

My daughter, Gracie who is 14 years old sleeps all the time. She has headaches constantly. Her body aches and has dizzy spells quite often. She feels like she has a rubber band around her wrist and that it s squeezing constantly. She also complains of chest pain. I m really concerned about her sleeping all of the time and not wanting to participate in any activity outside of the home.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your daughter might be having severe depression and she needs to be seen by a doctor, a pediatric psychiatrist would be a good choice in her case.

Depression in teens is common and needs good specialized care. The doctor might also ask for some tests to rule out other possible conditions like CBC (for anemia) and ERS, TSH (for the thyroid function) and other tests to check her liver, kidneys, sugar levels, etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
