What Causes Headaches And Dizziness On Waking Up?

Hey I have been having an aching pain in head around the time I wake up and at bad times like in the car or at school. My head gets dizzy and my eyes feel like they re getting nailed in by someone s knuckle and when it s done after 5 seconds, my head gets boiling hot and I usually have to sit down and close my eyes for it to go away. I m 12 years of age should I contact a doctor or do you know anything for it to not happen?

Thank you for choosing HCM

From the description you have given, it seems that you have a migraine. A migraine occurs due to recurrent headaches. A migraine starts because of a trigger factor. Examples of trigger factors:
Cold
Fever
Weather changes
Certain foods

If you are able to identify the trigger factors, then you can avoid the trigger factors to prevent the migraines. Also, you may be getting aura symptoms like dizziness and the eye pain that you are getting. This is why you are getting these symptoms.

Before seeing a Doctor, you can try the following to help you:
Drink lots of water
Sleep well and get at least 8 hours of sleep a day
Inhale steam mixed with Eucalyptus oil to clear the nasal passages

Do not take any NSAID like Paracetamol because this may cause problems because of your age. There is a chance that the medication will cause problems.

If the treatment does not help you after 5 days, then you need to see a Doctor. All the best.
Hope this helps you
