What Causes Headache, Painful Eyes, Sensitivity To Light And Fatigue In A Child?

My 7 year old daughter has had a headache, eye pain in both eyes (she says the socket), sensitivity to light, fatigue (sleeps 12 hours & naps), vomiting, fever & not eating for 4 days now. We gave her Tylenol to get her fever down but it returns when meds wear off. Yesterday we went to Urgent Care & they said her eyes, neck, throat, ears & stomach all look good. Strep test was negative. Sent her home with anti-nausea med & told us to alternate Tylenol & Ibuprofin for fever. Today, my 5 year old daughter has the same symptoms! Please help!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A detailed evaluation is required.
Consult a paediatric neurologist and get evaluated.
If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
