What Causes Headache On And Off?
I have had a on and off headache since Sunday It hurts to touch or comb my hair on the left side. I have had this before but it usually goes away in a day. The whole left side down my neck , Throbs at times I put a cotton ball in my ear . It is not throbbing now . female age 66

I read your query and understand your concern
It seems you are suffering from tensive headache
In my opinion you should schedule a brain CT scan just to avoid any vascular event even that your clinic suggest for tensive headache
If CT is normal you should start pain killers and propanolol as daily treatment of you don't have any cardiac problem
I don't think you have reason to worry too much, it would go away after starting treatment
