Hello,
Raised red bumps are not a common occurrence with influenza from what I understand. The fever, cough, chills, fatigue, muscle aches all sound more like influenza. The web mentions rash with
fever in children as possibly being related to influenza. So, it is possible that a rash could be related, but I keep thinking it is not common.
A rash could occur from an unrelated cause, such as an
allergic reaction to food, medications, laundry detergent, etcetera. A
primary care provider could begin the process of evaluating the cause of the rash and may have seen it in other patients that have come through his/her clinic of late if it is related to influenza or another cause for which people have sought care.
The more a rash is like hives or welts with swelling, or associated with any tightness in the throat, wheezing or
difficulty breathing or swallowing the quicker a rash should be medically evaluated in case it is a manifestation of
anaphylaxis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Matthew Jones
