What Causes Headache And Stomach Ache Along With Dizziness?

My friend is a male. 50 years old. He is never sick. He currently has a very bad headache and stomach ache that hurts only when he stands - if he stands he gets a bad headache and stomach ache and is very dizzy. If he is sitting or laying down, he is better but not perfect. This came on yesterday morning and is still present. He is able to eat very small amounts and has taken 4-5 hour naps. He is at a conference for work so would like to know if an over-the-counter drug would help him. Is this a flu bug? Thank you for your time.

Hello,

You are suffering from stomach ache and headache problem. Two possibilities can be present as primarily:
-Viral gastritis or
-Acute gastric or duodenal ulcer

For that, Rabeprazole Once a day (OD) for one week can be prescribed. This drug can be taken in afternoon 30 minute before meal.

Avoid gastric irritants like:
-Excess spicy foods
-Excess tea
-Stress

Cooked oatmeal helps in soothing stomach. Drink more water to maintain hydration. If still no improvement, then further work up needed. Consult the physician for examination and prescription.
