What Causes Headache And Pressure Behind Eye After A Head Injury?

i am a 59 yr old woman with atrial fibrilation.15 months ago i fell onto tiled flooring after a possible "blackout episode"-the one and only that i had had. i was in spain at the time. although my head swelled at the time i did not attend hospital. i recovered well. Now i am getting headaches in that area and a slight pressure behind the eye-my right side.could there be a problem after all this time? at the time i had not been diagnosed with AT and so not taking warfarin then. i am now back in the uk

Hi there and welcome ,

Well it seems like you've recently been diagnosed with AF and now put on WARFARIN. Since its been already 15 months since your fall and head injury, its quite unlikely that incident is related to this new onset headache(as you've already mentioned that you've recovered well). The symptoms that you've described are suggestive of increase in Intra-Cerebral Pressure however it can be due to some other causes also (I'm not going into all those details now).

Tell me something are you also experiencing any dizziness/ nausea/ any aura along with your headache?? Also I hope your Coagulation profile is also routinely monitored during WARFARIN therapy.

So as you're back to UK(where You're from I'm guessing) you can certainly check in to your Neurologist as these new problems will certainly be requiring thorough neurological examination and you may also be needing to undergo a MRI of the Brain at the same time

Thanks a lot for Contacting HCM
