What Causes Headache And Face Swelling After Taking Oxcarbazepine?
Hi I took my second dose of oxcarbazepine earlier today and noticed a few hours later that along with a killer headache my face was much puffier that normal. I think it may be too much stress and sodium, but wanted to double check before paging my on call doctor. I noticed after looking up side effects for the drug that my throat was feeling funny and swollen. I think that third symptom might be psychological. I took a mild antihistamine and figure I should just wait for any more pronounced symptoms...like trouble swallowing, etc. Mind you I am bipolar and have anxiety disorder so I am no stranger to false perception.
From history you have given it seems your problem is some sort of allergic reaction. You should stop your drug and take some anti histamine like avil and consult your physician early. Wish you good health.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar
