Welcome to HCM!

I carefully read your question and would explain that your partner's symptoms seem to be related to tension type headache.

This is a benign type of headache caused by the contractions of the scalp muscles.

There is nothing to worry about.

I would recommend taking painkillers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

If the headache persists, you should consult him with a neurologist for a careful physical examination.

Antidepressants can be started as preventive therapy reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.

Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Aida
