What Causes Headache And Dizziness With Shortness Of Breath?

Hello, I am a sixteen year old female. For the last three years I have been feeling really tired all the time. I sleep about ten hours a night. I seem to always have headaches and dizzyness. Sometimes I feel out of breath and I get hot flashes. My head feels really hot and my body feels very cold. I also get random cramps all over my body. I used to get random chest aches and panic attacks, but they have become less frequent. I have seen a cardiologist and he said my heart is fine. Also i don t have diabetes and my blood tests come back normal. I did have problems with dehydration a couple of years ago but since then i feel like i drink alot of water. I m just starting to get conserned because the fuzzy-ness in my head doesn t go away with Advil and the cramps in my stomach and muscles cause me alot of pain. I tend to eat pretty healthy, I don t eat alot of candy, fastfood, chips, or sugary foods. I eat a decent amount of vegetables and fruit everyday. I haven t had sex, smoked, done drugs, or drink alcohol. I don t know what is wrong with me. Could i be allergic to something, or have eye-sight problems? someone else mentioned inner ear problems? I don t know what else to do.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query, you have symptoms of headache and dizziness with shortness of breath. The symptoms you mentioned in your query can occur due to many reasons like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection, Meniere disease, acoustic neuroma, sinusitis and multiple sclerosis.

You should avoid bending forward, take steam, drink ginger tea thrice a day and do light exercises daily. Start taking ginkgo biloba, which will be very helpful.

I would suggest you to consult with ENT specialist for proper checkup so that there will not be any further complication. Doctor may order certain test like CT scan, MRI, blood test, audiometry test and ECG to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug, sedatives, antibiotics, decongestants or drain sinus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
