What Causes Headache And Bloody Nose?

My 9 year old did not have major symptoms of a concussion other than a bad headache that over a week a month or so back. He had been hit in the helmet the first time with a puck and banged his head on the boards the second time while he was playing hockey. We kept him out of hockey for a few weeks and after back in hockey this week he has now woken up in the middle of the night with a nose bleed. Should I be concerned?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
this nose bleed is not related to his hit over head.
nose bleed may be due to dry nasal mucosa being eroded or bleeding from LITTLES area .
bleeding once can be observed if not heavy.
if again u find a bleed, pinch the nose tightly and ask the child to breathe with mouth until it stops , next resorts are ice packs over nose , xylometazoline nasal drops or botroclot nasal drops.
