What Causes Headache After Inhaling Smoke?

Hi my Granddaughter 27yrs old was cooking some fries fell asleep and the fire alarm did go off she immediately woke up with her apartment in smoke she was able to put the fire out but it was very smokey which she was in haling the smoke I went to pick her up she is mobile but she states her head is hurting from the inhalation of the smoke is there any I can give her.
