What Causes Hard Lump On Hymen During Pregnancy?

Hi I m 15 weeks pregnant and notice recently is hurt to sit down so I look down at my vagina and at the entry of the vagina on the hymen on the left side close to the urethra is a hard lump little bit bigger then the size of a pea. And it almost seems like a swollen trail from the lump seems to go all the way back up into my vagina .. the lump came out of no where and I m curious to what it could be?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

It appears as though you are experiencing a cyst on the Bartholin's gland or a simple vaginal cyst, both are common occurrences. Since you are experiencing tenderness, you have to report to your health care provider, get a local examination done and plan proper management. Infection if any, should be treated promptly. Take adequate rest and maintain proper genital hygiene.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam, OBGYN
