What Causes Hallucinations Post Intake Of Anti Nausea Medications?

My husband, while in the ICU, was given an anti-nausea medication that had tussin in the name. He began to have hallucinations for several hours. This type of disassociation occurred another time with a cough medication with tussin. Can you tell me the name of the anti-nausea medication he received.

hello there,
Tussin generally indicates a medicine used for cough treatment.
Robitussin is a medication that has an ingredient called DMX or dextromethorphan that can trigger hallucinations in some patients.
Since your husband was in ICU there is a good chance that robitussin might have been prescribed to clear his lungs and help him breathe better.
But with the history you have given me, this seems most likely.

Hope this helps,
