What Causes Halitosis With Sneezing?

Dear doctor, I have an ongoing problem with bad breath, yellow saliva (recently purchased teeth protecting silicon pad - I grind at night and it is already coloured) as well as sneezing attacks (numerous times a day). Sometimes I spit out small bits of what seems like puss / smelly lumps. Please can you advise me the course of action? I would like to mention as well that I was taking medication for allergy with little effect - as soon as I stopped taking it sneezing is back. I suspected Candida overgrowth, I crave sweets and bread a lot. Not sure what to do and where to start? BR

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain let me take your problems one by one..
-First thing that you have is a bad breath or halitosis along with spitting foul smelling lumps.
Well these conditions are co-related as the small lumps that you are spitting out seems to be Tonsil stones or Tonsilloliths that are calcified masses formed due to calcification of food debris and dust over the tonsil crypts..
It is a potent cause for bad breath..
Consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can remove the stones manually ..
To prevent their reformation you should gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water..
Gargle with warm saline solution..
Always gargle after meals..
Drink plenty f water and limit intake of dairy products and other high calcium foods..

-For grinding of teeth, mouthg guards that you are already wearing is appropriate ad along with it you should also relieve stress by doing meditation and breathing exercises..
Anti anxiety medicines under supervision of physician can help..

-For sneezing that seems to be due to allergic reaction consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can do allergic tests to rule out the cause of allergic reaction and avoiding exposure to allergen will help..
An immunotherapy can also be instilled to reduce the severity of allergic symptoms..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
