What Causes Hair Loss And Weight Gain With Hormone Replacement?

Female, 64, taking Harmones replacementent. Experiencing hair loss. Top front. If I wanted total blood tests to rule out thyroid or anything else where would I go. Is it covered by insurance? Yes, I am tired, weight gain, on and on. Please tell me where to go. I feel my Harmones replacement.....progesterone, bio- est, testosterone may be wrong?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Weight gain and hair loss may be due to hypothyroidism.


You should check your T3, T4 and TSH level to rule out thyroid disorder.

You can go to any near by laboratory. Routinely investigations without any hospital stay is not covered under insurance but still it depends on terms and condition of your insurance company.

Your hormone replacement therapy generally don't cause this type of side effects. So check your thyroid hormone levels once and plan accordingly.
