What Causes Guttate Psoriasis?

I was diagnosed with Guttate Psoriasis 2 months after I stared getting Orencia infusions. I never had this before and I m wondering if it could be from the Orencia. I m a patient who needs a Doctor that can look outside of the box, because that s where I ll be. I can t tell you how many Doctors that have looked at me for one thing or another have said, Oh I haven t seen that before. I was on Actimera before the Orencia and it caused severe sinus pain and I had to change.

Hello,

The exact cause of guttate psoriasis not known.

Psoriasis is a common, chronic, genetically mediated inflammatory, proliferating disorder of the skin.

Common causes are :
1. Bacteria or viral infections, including upper respiratory infections.
2. Injury to the skin, including cuts, burns, and insect bites.
3. Some medicines, including those used to treat malaria and certain heart conditions.
4. Stress.
5. Sunburn.
6. Too much alcohol.

It may be treated with Dithranol, Retinoids, topical steroids and PUVA therapy etc.

Please consult your dermatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
