Hello. My son is 4 months and a week old. He is passing green sticky motions7-8 times a day often after feeds. Prior to a week he used to pass 3-4 times mustardy yellow sticky motions. I m breastfeeding him. Also gave him two spoons of soup and pomagranate juice one week before.his birth weight is 2.3kg and now weighs 6 kg. Doc gv him levolin 1.5 ml and maxtra 5 drops for cough last week and pedizinc 1.5 ml for loose motions. The dosage is over four days back. Still motions r green. Anything to worry?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. You should get a stool routine and culture of your baby to rule out any infection. In case of infection antibiotic therapy and probiotics will help. If that is clear then it can be due to lactose intolerance. In such case you can stop breast feeding for some days and start giving soy milk formula. If it is lactose intolerance the stool will get normalized in some days.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
