What Causes Greenish Build Up In Ear Canal?

My son suffers from chronic ear infections. I just noticed an extreme build up in his ear canal of very hard wax that becomes greenish in color further into the ear. Is this merely residue from the infection and does it need to be removed professionally?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the greenish build up in ear with a history of chronic ear infection here seems to be accumulation of wax as well as infectious discharge pus that has dried and there is greenish buildup in the ear..
It can act as a source of infection therefore you should consult an ENT physician and get an otoscopic examination done and he/she can remove the wax from his ear and irrigate the ear well so that there is reduced susceptibility of infection in his ear in future..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
