What Causes Green Coloured Bowel Movement?

I just had a bowel movement after a urine enema. It was liquid, as expected with the enema, but it was an opaque olive green. The only different factor that might contribute is me being on ecstasy, but I ve never heard of it affecting bowel movements.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The green coloured stool may be due to bile pigment in the stool because diarrhea moves food too quickly through the intestine so the intestinal chemicals and bacteria can't break down the bile pigment to its normal brown color, or the green color may be due to certain foods like green, leafy vegetables or green food coloring.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
