What Causes Genital Herpes?

Ok so i am concerned somehow i have gotten genital herpes. Though i have never had sex nor had anyone down there. I was doing routine shaving and i noticed i had cut myself a couple times down there. About 2 days latter i started getting open sores down there that seem to be spreading. They are moderately painful just sitting there and extremely painful while urinating. It has been about 5 days now amd they dont seem to be going away. As i try to check them in a mirror i can see a very thin slightly white dishcharge coming out of my vagina as well. Not sure if they are related but i have no other symptoms. Could it be because i got in a hot tub after i cut myself there or could it be bacterial from an older razor????? Very concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

n my opinion the symptoms seem to be related to an infection.

It is not related to genital herpes.

I suggest doing a urine test and a vaginal swab for further evaluation.

Meanwhile, I suggest maintaining good hygiene.

I also recommend using cotton underwear.

If the diagnosis is confirmed I suggest taking prescription antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
