Hello, Thanks for the query. Gastritis and esophagitis are due to excess secretion of hydrochloric acid by stomach parietal cells plus affection to protective barrier in the stomach. The reasons can be many like taking highly spicy food, irregular food intake, use of alcoholic drinks and smoking. As regards gall stones they are usually unlikely to cause either gastritis or esophagitis. Most often gall stones produce very few symptoms. But if they cause problems and big enough, then there is a need to get the gall bladder removed. Removal of gall bladder does not affect any digestive function. Removal of gall bladder may not relieve the symptoms of gastritis and esophagitis. For that there has to be other medications taken plus certain precautions should be followed like avoid smoking, alcohol, take timely food, avoid spicy and fried food, reduce intake of strong beverages. Occasionally certain drugs PPIs may be required. Thanks.
