What Causes Frequent Urination?

I m in my mid twenties. For almost a year now i ve had trouble with frequent urination, a sample was taken and nothing was found to be wrong. in the past few months its become alot worse, I don t even go out socially because even 1 or 2 beers will mean going to toilet every 20 mins or so for rest of the night; generally in the day i go pretty much every hour. Also, for a long long time, 2-3yrs, had problems getting and maintaing an erection, through masturbation or with a partner and for a month or so not been getting any when i wake/in bed (which is the only time I was getting them). Still can t bring myself to mention it to doctor. Would really appreciate any input. Worried that these may be signs of something more serious and they are seriously affecting my life as it is. I d describe myself as genrally healthy, always been into keep fit and healthy eating etc.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to urinary incontinence.

There are many causes related to these symptoms.

Urinary incontinence in men is often related to prostate problems.

As men age, the prostate gland grows larger, squeezing the urethra and pushing the neck of the bladder out of position.

I suggest to do a urine test, and a prostate ultrasound for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
