Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 10 year old son has had the need to urinate a lot today. What would cause his increase need to urinate?? He has no fever or stomach pains. He does drink at least 36 ounces of water a day, but he sweats profusely. He is not highly active but when he is active he sweats. He does not drink but 24 ounces of soda a week. He drinks more water than sweet drinks, but today he has been complaining about his increased urination.
Hi, it is normal to urinate frequently in a day at times, but if the urine is differently coloured or smelled then it is an alarming symptom. Your son probably has drunk more water and more soda or sweet drinks causing the frequent urination, but do not ignore it. Ask him if he has any pain or burning while or after urinating, or if he has a fever or a stomach ache lower abdomen. Should the answer be yes to any of these questions, you must visit a Pediatrician immediately.
