What Causes Frequent Urination And Lower Back Pain?

I had a UTI about three weeks ago diagnosed with a urine test. The doctor prescribed 7 day cipro therapy. I felt much better but after 3 days off the therapy (10 days total) my symptoms returned. It has been 4 weeks and I have had 2 urine tests since and both were negative. I have frequent urination, dull ache low back pain, general malaise. I don't know what to do from here.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my surgical experience, mere simple UTI does not return back while on antibiotic therapy.

So a strong suspiciousness for gravels or calculus in the urinary system has to be kept and require an ultrasound examination of the abdomen and pelvis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
