What Causes Frequent Urination And Burning Sensation During Urination?

Hi, My father just underwent hernia surgery on 19th June 17. Post operation, he is facing problems while urinating. Problems are like : Tremendous burning while urinating. Frequent urination but in small quantity. He has been diagnosed with enlarged prostate post surgery. The prostate size is 43 gms. He is also taking medicines for enlarged prostate as per doctor s advise. He was also applied catheter for 6 days on doctor s advise. But these seems having no effect. The burning sensation still persists after the catheter is removed. Please help.

Hello

The common cause of this problem is UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). This is bacterial and sometimes cause inflammation of the nearby organs.

But in your father's case, burning urination and frequent visits to washroom are may be due to the inflammation of prostrate.

I would suggest :
1. Drink a plenty of water
2. Cranberry juice will help
3. Ask your doctor for an antibiotic. It will certainly help him
4. Give him curd to eat in morning and lunch
