What Causes Frequent Urination And Blood In Urine?

I think my 8 year old daughter may have a bladder or urinary infection because she has wet the bed the last two nights, and has been running to the restroom every 5 minutes for the past three days. This has happened before about a month ago and lasted a day or two then was done. Both times she has had a small amount of blood in her urine; the first time her urine was pink, and this time it was a small clot-like spec. She says her stomach hurts while she was trying to urinate, and stops when she s done. The stomach ache is not in her kidneys, but at her belly button area.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Urinary tract infections can be associated with the symptoms that you are describing- frequency of urination, abdominal pain, incontinence, blood in the urine.

Any aspect of the urinary tract can be involved- kidneys, ureter, bladder, urethra

She needs oral antibiotics. This is the only effective way to treat this infection.
In addition to the antibiotics she needs to use a lot of fluids.

I hope this helps

Welcome to Health care magic.

1. The history you have mentioned suggest UTI - urinary tract infection.
2. Bleed with clots in the urine - its quite advanced state of the urinary tract infection.
3.I would suggest to get an ultrasound scan on urgent basis to see the condition of the kidneys and bladder and wall condition.
4.At the same time urine culture will be necessary.
5.Immediate action required - a course of antibiotic might be necessary. Do not ignore it may complicate.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
