What Causes Frequent Hiccups And Yawning?

My 95 year old father has a catheter. This has just been changed by a nurse but he has frequent hiccups and keeps yawning. He cannot eat much at the moment although usually eats well. I phoned his Dr. who thinks he may have a urinary infection and has put him on Amocillin antibiotic for 3 days at 3 capsules a day. I am wondering why he is getting this unusual hiccup whether he is laying down or sitting up, Can you advise?

Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do a physical exam by your treating Doctor and to confirm it do Endoscopy.

2)Discuss with your treating Doctor about [metronidazole+clarithromycin+pantoprazole]

To prevent it follow few lifestyle modifications like this-

1)Remove Irritating Foods from Your Diet

2)Consume More Beneficial Nutrients and take one multivitamin regularly.

3)Eliminate or Lower Use of Over-the-Counter Drugs like painkillers

4)Lower Inflammation through exercise and controlling Stress.

5)Wash your hands before eating [Use hand sanitizer]

6)Try to avoid alcohol and smoking

Hope that helps
