Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 17 year old daughter is suffering from Migraines in the back of her neck and head (We have had a MRI done and it was clear) She is an elite soccer player and is getting more headaches when training. While training the last 3 times during all the running she has been getting dizzy, and needs to stop, cool down before she can proceed. Any thought to what may be causing this? Thank you

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your daughter seems to have stress in the neck (cervical spine) while running or throwing soccer, which causes stress to the nerve roots resulting in her pain or refractory problem of eye precipitated by fast movements of running or swinging of neck while throwing.
She should get her MRI for cervical spine and check her eyes and find solution with the consulting spine surgeon or ophthalmologist. Physiotherapy or surgery would help in spinal problem or correction of the refractory error probably by using contact lenses, would be the answer.
She should stop the activity till then to avoid further damage.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
